Birman Cat Rescue -
cat, breeders
This breed was introduced to Europe in 1916 from Southeast Asia. In 1925 the Federation Feline Francaise recognized the Birman breed. During the Second World War, the population of these cats was disastrously decreased. Saving the breed meant that other longhaired and shorthaired breeds were involved in the reintroduction.
